Converting Audio File Formats with Audacity

When recording system recordings, you must keep in mind that the files that you upload to your PBX must be of this file format

  • .wav file

  • 8000hz

  • 16bit PCM

  • Mono sound

To ensure that your audio file is set to these parameters, you can use a free software called Audacity.

To convert your file to be usable by your Freevoice PBX, first, set the project rate to 8000hz in the bottom left of the window.

Next, go to File>Export and select “Export as Wav”

Make sure to save your file as a signed 16 bit PCM.

Your file should now be usable by our system
