Aastra Phones


In this section, you can find detailed ways to Factory Reset, manually configure, and obtain an IP/MAC address for Aastra 53i, 480i, and 9143i phones.

When provisioning your phone, first you will need to make sure you have contacted the Support Center with your phone's Make, Model and MAC Address (if the phone was not purchased through Freevoice), have added the new device to the Endpoint Manager, then you will need to Factory Reset the phone, then follow the manual/automatic configuration instructions below.

Factory Reset

Press the Wrench/Options key.
Scroll down to select Admin Menu.
Enter in the default admin password of "22222".
Scroll down again to select Factory Default.
Press Yes to confirm.

Finding your phone's IP Address

There are two ways you can find your phones IP:

  • Web Interface
    You can get the phones IP from the routers Device List.

  • Physical Interface
    Press the Wrench/Options Key.
    Scroll down and select Phone Status.
    Select IP&MAC Addresses.
    The IP address is as listed under IP.

Finding your MAC Address

You can find the MAC on the sticker that is on the back of the phone, but if it is not there or you don't have physical access to the phone you can get the MAC in 2 other ways.

  • Physical Interface
    Press the Wrench/Options Key.
    Scroll down and select Phone Status.
    Select IP&MAC Addresses.
    The MAC address is as listed under MAC.

Automatic Configuration

Our router uses the following string in the DNSMASQ field for auto-configuration:
dhcp-option=66,"http://Customer.freevoicepbx.com/epmcfg" (Replace Customer with your actual sub-domain.)

Manual Configuration

Before you manually configure your phone, make sure that it is already provisioned in the Endpoint Manager
To manually configure a phone, you have two options.

  • Physical Interface
    Press the Wrench/Options key.
    Scroll down to select Admin Menu.
    Enter in the default admin password of "22222".
    Scroll down again to select Cfg Svr.
    Go down to find and select HTTP.
    Select HTTP Server and enter "customer.freevoicepbx.com" (Replace "customer" with your actual sub-domain).
    Select HTTP Path and enter "epmcfg".

SIP Line Registration


  1. Go to your PBX Admin page.
  2. Go to PBX > PBX Setup > Extensions.
  3. Copy the extension's "secret" password information.
  4. Start up your Aastra phone, identify the phone's ip address (reference "Finding your phone's IP Address" at the top of this page), then input the ip address into your browser.
  5. Enter your phone’s login credentials ( username: admin, password: 22222 ).
  6. Under Advanced Settings, select the Line you would like to register your extension on (i.e. Line 1).
  7. Set the Screen Name field to the name you want to appear on your Aastra screen (i.e. John).
  8. Set the Phone Number field to the extension number.
  9. Set the Caller ID field to the name you want to appear on another phone’s screen when calling other phones that are connected to your PBX system.
  10. Set the Authentication Name field to the extension number.
  11. Paste the extension's "secret" information into the Password field.
  12. Set the Proxy Server field to your PBX system's domain (for example, customer.freevoicepbx.com).
  13. Set the Proxy Port field to "5060".
  14. Set the Registrar Server field to your PBX system's domain (for example, customer.freevoicepbx.com).
  15. Set the Registrar Port field to "5060".


Once you’ve entered all the details in the accounts page click "Save Settings" and wait a moment until your Aastra phone applies your newly configured settings.
