Cisco Phones


In this section, you can find detailed ways to Factory Reset, manually configure, and obtain an IP/MAC address for Cisco SPA 303/502 phones.

When provisioning your phone, first you will need to make sure you have contacted the Support Center with your phone's Make, Model and MAC Address (if the phone was not purchased through Freevoice), have added the new device to the Endpoint Manager, then you will need to Factory Reset the phone, then follow the manual/automatic configuration instructions below.


Factory Reset

Press the Setup button (page with folded corner).
Scroll down to select Factory Reset.
Press ok to confirm.


Finding your phone's IP Address

There are two ways you can find your phones IP: 

  • Web Interface
    You can get the phone's IP from the router's Device List.

  • Physical Interface
    Press the Setup button (page with folded corner).
    Scroll down and select Network.
    The IP address is as listed under Current IP.


Finding your MAC Address

You can find the MAC on the sticker that is on the back of the phone or on its box. If it is not there, you can get the MAC address through the phone itself.

  • Physical Interface
    Press the Setup button (page with folded corner).
    Scroll down and select Product Info.
    The MAC address is as listed under MAC Address (fifth option down).


Automatic Configuration

Before you configure your phone, make sure that it is already provisioned in the Endpoint Manager.

Our router uses the following string in the DNSMASQ field for auto-configuration:
dhcp-option=66,"http://Customer.freevoicepbx.com/epmcfg" (Replace Customer with your actual sub-domain)


Manual Configuration

Before you configure your phone, make sure that it is already provisioned in the Endpoint Manager.

To manually configure a phone, refer to the following steps provided below.

  • Web Interface (Click Here for Video Guide)
    To use the Web Administration page of the phone, you would first need to find the phone's IP address.
    Open up a web browser and type in the phone's IP address.
    Click Admin Login, then Advanced.
    Select the Provisioning tab.
    Change the Transport Protocol from "https" to "http".
    Change Profile Rule to "http://Customer.freevoicepbx.com/epmcfg/spa$PSN.cfg".
    Change Profile Rule B to "http://Customer.freevoicepbx.com/epmcfg/spa$MA.cfg".
    For both Profile Rules, you would replace Customer with your actual sub-domain
    Submit all changes, and please wait about 2-5 minutes for the phone to process the configuration changes.
    The phone should power cycle and download new instructions. Please be patient and allow this process to fully complete. The phone may power cycle multiple times. If it does not power cycle at all after 5 minutes of the configuration changes, please manually power cycle the phone.
